FEVER/DREAM
By Sheila Callaghan
Directed by Beth Wood
Say your father was the President of a multi-national corporation and you were chained to the customer service desk as soon as you could dial a phone... if someone made you CEO for a day, would you go crazy?

Women's Voices at Cleveland Public Theatre

Established in 1999, the Women's Voices Project is a collaboration between Cleveland Public Theatre and the Elyria YWCA's Women's Campus Project. Women's Voices connects Campus Project residents with the tools of creative expression to help them achieve independent living and recover from domestic violence, addiction, and other adversities.

Every year new residents create an evening-length presentation in which participants read and perform original stories and poetry based on their own life experiences. The work is annually presented to audiences at Cleveland Public Theatre and the Elyria YWCA, and then taken on tour to area shelters, recovery centers and prisons.
Participants of the Women's Voices Project find empowerment through writing and public speaking, inspiring the community with the courage to speak their truth.

Circle Mirror Transformation, Dobama Theatre

Circle Mirror Transformation

By Annie Baker,  April 22 – May 15, 2011

CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION follows five small-town Vermonters as they take a community acting class, each with their own expectations.  They soon learn more about each other and themselves than they bargained for.  Annie Baker’s new play, extended four times at the off-Broadway Playwrights Horizons, is a beautifully crafted diorama, a petri dish in which we see, with hilarious detail and clarity, the antic sadness of a motley quintet.

Cain Park, Cleveland Heights

Photographing summer pickup games is often times a micro
study of a social pecking order.
The better players tend to play
against their weaker brethren, having first choice of court selection plus
street rules which gives the ball back to the team that
just scored.
